Lisbeth McGlone

GREENFIELD – Lisbeth (Weidner) McGlone, age 87, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021. She was born in Schweinfurt, Germany on March 19, 1934. Heinrich and Lisbeth (Baer) Weidner. She graduated from High School in Germany. Lisbeth owned Butcher & Baker in Cumberland for many years and then worked at Hancock Regional Hospital as a cook before retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Moose Club in Greenfield and The German Club in Greenwood. She had attended Brandywine Community Church. Being a huge fan of live music, Lisbeth attended many concerts and would always get as close as possible to the performers on stage. She got to see Elvis’ last concert in Market Square Arena in 1977 and never missed a Bob Seger concert. She enjoyed making food for friends and family, especially her German dishes. Her family is grateful to have the recipes that she passed on to them. She loved the holidays and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lisbeth had a very giving heart and donated to many organizations and whenever a family member would visit, she would always hand them a $20 bill when they left. Lisbeth’s proudest accomplishment was becoming an American citizen in 1957. She is survived by her children, Gerd Snook (Mitzi Murphy) of Bloomfield, Sandra Wagerman (Alvin) of Franklin, and Kenneth Snook (Tina) of New Palestine; loving companion, Herb Turner, of Greenfield; grandchildren, John F. Chandler, Brandan C.J. Snook and Darrill H. Snook; great-grandchildren, Aryanna Chandler and John H. Chandler; brothers, Werner Weidner of Florida and Karl Weidner of Germany; and nephew, Tim Weidner of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heinrich and Lisbeth; husband, Clarence Edgar Snook; sister, Mary Weidner; brother, Erwin Weidner; and twin brothers, Gerhart and Erhart Weidner. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Dale Haydon will be officiating.
