Lee Ann Knight

Lee Ann Knight, 71, passed peacefully into Jesus' loving arms June 6, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 15,1942 to Leroy and Rachel Korfhage in Louisville, KY. A job transfer brought the family to Indianapolis in 1956. She met Edward "Eddie" Knight as a freshman at Lawrence Central High School. She married her first and only boyfriend a few years later. They enjoyed 54 years of happy marriage: renting a cabin on a lake in Wisconsin, driving near and far to eat at a favorite restaurant, or visiting family in Kentucky. Ed and Lee Ann settled in Fishers, IN with the first three children: Lee Ellen, John, and Jan. They moved to Hancock County when discovering the projected development Ed was privy to as a member of the town council. They wanted the kids to grow up "in the country". Soon after, a fourth child, Eric, was born. The family enjoyed many wonderful memories at the house in Maxwell, IN. Lee Ann was a perfect hostess and insisted on preparing everything for family gatherings on holidays and any other occasion. She was an excellent cook and will always be remembered for her barbecue, pies (especially pumpkin), and chocolate chip cookies to name a few. She also enjoyed getting together with the girls to gab and play bridge, holding any baby she could get her hands on, and helping a friend in need. A woman of great faith, Lee Ann's courage and love for Jesus Christ was an inspiration to many. Most of all, she was a blessing to her family. She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Edward; daughters, Lee Ellen Knight (Kevin Minnick) and Janice (Greg) Palatinus; sons, John (Kim) and Eric (Michelle); granddaughters, Brittany (Ryan) Keck, Annah Palatinus, and Diana Knight; great grandson, Reed Keck; sister, Jane Korfhage; sister-in-law, Donna Bivens; beloved cousin, Alice Rae, whom she considered a sister, and husband, Carl Allen; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Whittaker and staff in Oncology, and the hospice nurses at Hancock Regional Hospital for their kindness and expert care.
