Gracie Glentzer

GREENFIELD – Gracie F. (Graves) Glentzer, age 76, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 with her loving husband, Paul by her side. She was born in Scottsville, Kentucky on April 22, 1948 to Francis Elmore and Gracie Idell (Walker) Graves. She graduated from Arsenal Technology High School in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1965 and furthered her education at a Seminary School studying Theology. She married Paul M. Glentzer in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 26, 1978. She worked for Western Electric as an Assembler for over twelve years. Gracie finished her working career with Lucent Technologies in Indianapolis as a Microfiche Technician where she excelled for over fourteen years, until her retirement in 1999. Gracie was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; she attended Calvary Apostolic Church and was also a member of the Knightstown American Legion-Auxiliary. She loved the outdoors and being outside. However, spending time with her family and loved ones is what she cherished the most. She is survived by her husband, Paul Glentzer; son, Anthony “Tony” Burgess; stepchildren, Lisa Thomas, Kelly (Steve) Walsh, Tammy (Sam) Chiamis, and Michael Glentzer; nine step grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; sister, Mavis Jane (Anthony) Schauer; nephew, Toby Schauer; and brother-in-law, Phillip Glentzer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Gracie Graves; infant child, Marvin Burgess; sister, Patty Smith; stepson, David Paul Glentzer; and step grandson, Tyler Alvarez. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Tabernacle Church, 902 Fletcher Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
