Brenda White

GREENFIELD- Brenda Delaine (Abbott) White, age 71, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 27, 1954 to Donald Ray and Corrine Delaine (Johnson) Abbott. She attended and graduated from New Palestine High School. She married Phillip L. White on November 11, 1973, in Ingalls, Indiana. Brenda spent her younger years as a stay-at-home mom and running a residential cleaning business. Brenda’s life was filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family, and caregiver to her 91-year-old mother. She was a devoted member of the Faith Trinity Pentecostal Church in Shelbyville, Indiana. Brenda loved traveling, especially to the beach and mountains. She enjoyed taking long walks, being outdoors, and family cookouts. She was considered an avid sports fan and adored country music. Throughout her life, she found joy in spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and her two dogs, Simon and Murphy. She is survived by her son, Joseph (Jessica) White; daughter, Christy White (Maddie Nutt); grandchildren, Taylor, Ellie, Jake, James, Joelton, Johnathan, Hanna, Khloe, brother, Joseph Abbott; sisters, Rebecca (Walt) Hackworth, Debbie Frederick, and Cynthia (James) Baldwin; mother, Corrine Delaine Abbott; several nieces and nephews; but especially her nephew, Dillon Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Ray Abbott; and her husband, Phillip White. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Perry Fouts will be officiating. Burial will follow at Moravian Cemetery in Hope, Indiana.
