Aaron Thomas

GREENFIELD – Aaron Lynn Thomas, age 57, of Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in Indianapolis. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 26, 1964 to Robert Lee and Ann K. (Hicks) Thomas. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1982. Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army. Aaron married Katrina “Kat” “Tina” (Hendrix) on August 4, 1990, in Indianapolis. He worked for Hoosiers Helpers for over 17 years. He was an active member of Brandywine Community Church and the Greenfield American Legion #119. Aaron liked collecting guns, knives, clocks, and working on them. He also liked writing and wrote short stories call “Trinity Tales”. Aaron most of all loved spending time with his family and telling bad Dad Jokes. Aaron is survived by his mother, Ann Thomas of Park Hills, MO; wife, Katrina Thomas of Greenfield; children, Sean (Kandice) Thomas of Terre Haute, Katherine McGinnis of Greenfield, Jessi Alexander of Greenfield, and Elijah (Alissa Aguiniga) Thomas of Fairbanks, AK; 10 grandchildren, Mason, Braiden, Nora, Rowan, Julian, Mystique, Aidan-Pacey, Drake, Kiara, and Tyler; brothers, Bobby (Phyllis) Thomas of St. Louis, MO and Jim Thomas of Fenton, MO; mother-in-law, Annie Hendrix of Greenfield; sisters-in-law, Terry Neal of Marion, IN and Debra Hancock of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Conway Hendrix Jr. of Greenfield; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Thomas; step-father, Al Winebarger; infant brother, Johnny Thomas; grandson, Landon; and father-in-law, Conway Hendrix. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E New Rd, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Matt Wickham will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown with military rites presented by the U.S. Army. Pastor Gerald DeVore will provide closing remarks at the cemetery.
