Nancy Jane Beilach
June 30, 1934 - January 2, 2022
It is with the deepest sadness that our family announces the passing of our beautiful mother Nancy Jane Beilach. Nancy was born in Chicago on June 30, 1934. Her family moved to Indianapolis when she was 10 years old. She attended Shortridge High School where she enjoyed having “the girls” over and developed life-long friendships. She spent those days working at LS Ayers, and learning to drive , though not particularly well as her parents would attest. Nancy went on to earn her teaching degree from Indiana University and two masters degrees from Butler University. She raised her two boys on her own and worked hard each day in the classroom teaching for 25 years at various IPS schools. Each summer she would soak up the sun by the water and enjoy the lake view from her sunroom. Among her loves were her sister Mary Lou, Don her wonderful husband later in life, her mother and father, her children, grand children and her cats that came along throughout the years. Nancy volunteered at the polls and truly enjoyed special trips that she and Don would take with family and friends. One endearing quality about Nancy was that she was not afraid to let others know her opinion and that they were wrong. She loved them anyway. Nancy greatly enjoyed her home on the lake, her many daily chats with her sister, family visits, anything blue and the companionship of her wonderful friend and caregiver Joyce. She is survived by her sister Mary Lou, sons Chris and Jeremy (Daughter-in-law Tristan whom Nancy called her angel) grand children Aubri, Josh (Katie) and Anabelle. She will be greatly missed but we are ever thankful for her love, stories and each day we had her in our lives. A family gathering will be held in the spring to honor her. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
