Kathy Harter

FORTVILLE – Kathy Sue (Heiny) Harter, age 63, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Greenfield on May 18, 1958. She graduated from Greenfield-Central High School in 1976 and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana Central University in 1980. For over 12 years, Kathy worked at Butler University as an Associate Director of Admissions. She was a major supporter of Mt. Vernon High School’s sports and was the Boys Basketball bookkeeper for nearly 20 years. Kathy loved traveling and especially going to the beach. She enjoyed watching and supporting her grandsons in all their activities and cherished time spent with her family. Kathy is survived by her dad, Norman G. Schuck; son, Eric Harter (Jill); grandsons, Evan and Landon Harter; sisters, Kim Parker and Beth Jett; nieces, Chelsey Neisler and Ellie Parker; and lifelong best friend, Debbie Arnold. She was preceded in death by her mom, Patty Sue Schuck. A Gathering and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Sue Ann Wortman Cancer Center, 801 N State St, Greenfield, IN 46140 and the Mt.
