Tracie Lee Amundson

GREENFIELD – Tracie Lee (Torrence) Amundson, 60, of Greenfield, lost her courageous battle with leukemia Wednesday August 23, 2023, at Indiana University Hospital. She was born on March 27, 1963, in Indianapolis as the daughter of Robert and Donna (Wasson) Torrence. She graduated from Southport High School and became the first in her family to attend college, receiving her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. She married Eric Amundson on July 23, 2011. Tracie worked for Eli Lilly and Company for 37 years. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta and St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield. Family was always at the center for Tracie, and she was the center of her family, hosting holidays and parties for family and friends alike. She never met a stranger, making friends everywhere she went. It was not uncommon for her to run into someone she knew in an airport half a world away, and it could be difficult to get a spot in her well-planned social calendar. Tracie loved to travel, especially to Disney World, documenting each day of a trip with photos and detailed captions for her Facebook page. She visited six different continents and countless countries. Tracie also adored animals, especially her beagles Thor and Minnie. She is survived by her husband, Eric Amundson of Greenfield; children, Amy (Joey) Kaufman of Columbus, Ohio, Jenna Amundson of Fishers, Austin Timmerman of Portland, Oregon, and Mia Amundson of Franklin; sisters, Kim Casey of Indianapolis and Robin (Joel) Westphal of New Palestine; brothers-in-law, Dr. Paul (Dr. Alison) Amundson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Peter (Polly) Amundson of Westfield; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Burton of Indianapolis, Erin Burrus of Indianapolis, Neil (Jamie) Westphal of Indianapolis, Nate (Natalie) Westphal of Zionsville, Mathew (Nydia) Amundson of Irvine, California, Jacob (Jackie) Amundson of Lubbock, Texas, Nick Amundson of Okoboji, Iowa, Austin Amundson of West Lafayette, and Blake Amundson of Westfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Donna Torrence, her in-laws, Dr. Merle and Avis Amundson, Amy and Austin’s grandparents, Howard and Dottie Timmerman, and her nephew Ryan Westphal. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday August 31, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Tracie hoped to receive a stem cell transplant and celebrate with a trip to Disney World with her family.
