Terry Good

New Palestine - Terry Good, 68, of New Palestine, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at IU Methodist Hospital. He was born in Connersville, Indiana on August 7, 1955 to Dane R. Good and Norma J. (Shires) Lomax. He graduated from Minot High School, in North Dakota, in 1974. He received his Associate Degree from Denver Automotive and Diesel College in Denver, Colorado in 1976. Terry married Carla J. Friend on April 28, 1984, in Connersville. He worked for Rodefeld’s in Connersville for over 20 years as a Machinist. He then worked for Navistar/BMC in Indianapolis in Machine Repair, for over 11 years before retiring. Mr. Good was a member of the NRA, UAW, and Ducks Unlimited. He was a firearms instructor, raced sprint cars and dragsters, and was active in tractor pulls. He also volunteered with the Fayette County 4-H. He enjoyed ice fishing, duck hunting, being outdoors, and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons and his dog Snickers. He also liked to DJ weddings. In his younger years, Terry spent time in Iceland, North Dakota, and various other places. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Carla; daughter, Samantha (Ethan) Bailey of New Palestine; step-father, Henry (Kay) Lomax of Florida; brothers, Jeff (Jane) Good of Golden, Colorado, and Chris (Jennifer) Good of Plymouth, Michigan; sister, Lori Brown of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Mason Good, Hunter Lantz, Aidyn Bailey, and Hank Bailey; his Chocolate Lab, Snickers; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140, from 4pm until 7pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1 pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Toby Risner will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited, Memorial Contribution, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
