Ronald "Ron" Rousch

GREENFIELD – Ronald (Ron) J. Rousch, age 56, of Greenfield, passed away Monday August 17, 2020 at Greenfield Healthcare Center. He was born in Greenfield on February 25, 1964 to Joseph and Virginia (Proehl) Rousch. He graduated from Greenfield-Central High School in 1982 and earned his Associates Degree from in Airway Science and Bachelors from Embry- Riddle University in Professional Aeronautics. Ron married Jamie (Snyder) Montgomery in 2003 at WPAFB in Dayton, Ohio. Ron enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after graduating high school serving from 1984 and retiring in 2004 at rank of SMSGT. SMSGT Rousch excelled early in his military career. His accomplishments include: Air Traffic Control Superintendent, Bronze Service Star recipient, Air Force trainer, and his work post-retirement with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Air Force Sergeant Assoc., 40&8, Brandywine Cruisers, and ABATE. He enjoyed building slot cars, trucks, and model rockets. He also liked tinkering with electronics and Ham Radios, fishing and working in his man cave. Ron is survived by his wife, Jamie Rousch of Greenfield; son, RJ Rousch JR. of Arizona; daughter, Bridget (Austin) Truelove of Greenfield IN; parents, Joseph and Virginia Rousch; brother, Steve (Catrina) Rousch of Elwood, IN; father-in-law, James Snyder of Greenfield; sister-in-law, Julie Snyder of Greenfield; uncle, Darwyn (Tammy) Proehl of Greenfield; niece, Natalie Rousch; grandchildren, Tucker James Montgomery and Aurora Lucille Truelove; He was preceded in death by his grandmother, June Glentzer; and mother-in-law Vivian Snyder. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory in Greenfield, Indiana. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with full military honors presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
