Ronald L. Allen

Ronald L. Allen, age 79, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 17, 1945 to Richard R. and Elnora (Walsh) Allen. He graduated from DeSales High School and then furthered his education at Bellarmine University and received his Bachelor’s Degree. Ronald later received his Master’s of Criminal Justice Degree from the University of Louisville. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was blessed to marry his love and friend, Theresa J. Beatty on September 11, 2003 in Greenfield, Indiana. For several years, Ronald worked as the Director of the Boys Club of America in Louisville, Kentucky. He also was the Assistant Superintendent at the Women’s Prison for the Indiana Department of Corrections. Throughout his life, Ronald had been a member of the United States Army, a Kentucky Colonel, and member of the Suum Cuique Fraternity. In his spare time, he enjoyed horse racing, watching football, and movies. He liked to travel and enjoyed hiking. But above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Theresa J. Beatty; children, Todd (Angie) Allen, Jason C. (Suzanne) Allen, Ryan A. (Meghan) Allen, and Trevor (Amy) Wilson; fifteen grandchildren; brother, Robert (Pat) Allen; and mother of his children, Donna (Herfel) Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Elnora Allen. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Amy Wilson will be officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the Indiana Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Boys & Girls Club of Hancock County at 715 E.
