Paula Sue Hunt

GREENFIELD – Paula Sue (Murphy) Hunt, age 77, of Greenfield, went home to be with the Lord in the evening of Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born in Mohawk on February 9, 1943 to Forrest P. and Virginia M. (Ewing) Murphy. She graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1961. Paula married Richard Ladd Hunt on October 14, 1966 at the Mohawk United Methodist Church. Earlier in life, she had been employed with Hancock Bank and Trust, and later worked for the Greenfield Daily Reporter. Paula was an amazing cook and also enjoyed baking. She cooked several years for the American Legion Post in Greenfield and also prepared food for the Greenfield Mayor’s breakfast. In addition, she catered several weddings, birthdays and reunion celebrations. Paula had a giving heart; she was very generous and caring to everyone. She loved her family; her three sons and her grandchildren were the light of her life! Paula is survived by her husband, Richard Hunt of Greenfield; three sons, Anthony “Tony” (Connie) Cross, Robert “Bob” (Melissa) Hunt, and Charles Hunt, all of Greenfield; grandchildren, Chelsie (Doug) Sweazy, Courtney (Ross) Meyer, Tyler Hunt and Cora Hunt; step-grandchildren, Jourdan (Clarke) Huber, Justin Meiring and Jaxson Meiring; great-grandchildren, Collin and Carolina Sweazy and Maverick and Macie Meyer; step-great grandchildren; Levi and Camryn Huber; sister, Marilyn Anne Gant; brother, Greg (Vera) Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. Paula was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Judy Kay Jenkins, Mary Rebecca “Becky” Nolan, and Virginia Jean Martin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Dan Koenig will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
