Paul L. Myers

Paul L. Myers went home to Jesus on July 26, 2025. He was born on May 31, 1934, in Fargo, North Dakota to Clark C. and Agnes (Bilderback) Myers. He was educated in Illinois, graduating from Naperville High School in 1952 and his BS in Agricultural Science from the University of Illinois in 1956. He completed ROTC and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in The US Army. Paul met the girl of his dreams and on September 1, 1956, he married Marilyn Jo Mackin. Paul reported to Infantry Basic Officer School at Fort Benning, GA on 24 November 1956, followed by Primary and Advanced flight training, finishing in November 1957. He served with the 2nd Armored Division and then with the 1st Armored division at Fort Hood, Texas. He then went to the Army helicopter school. Shortly afterwards he headed to the Army’s Cold Weather and Mountain School at Ft Greely, Alaska. He left active-duty 20 April 1960. Paul then worked in the agriculture field, taught school for four years and then was hired by TWA on September 13, 1965. He flew the Boeing 707, 727 and 747 and became a captain. Paul flew mostly international flights; he retired May 31,1989. Farming was his great love, both cattle and crops. Marilyn was his farm hand. Paul accepted Christ when he was a young boy and remained a faithful follower of Christ throughout his life. He served in all the churches wherever he lived. “My life has been blessed at every turn on every day.” Paul and Marilyn have two sons, Lawrence Joseph (Cindy)and Kenneth Roy (Kelly). In addition, they have seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. “I am exceptionally proud of our family. The greatest gift a child can give a parent is to make the parent proud. I have been given that greatest gift over and over,” A joyous memorial service in celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Greenfield Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 23 N. East St. Greenfield, IN 46140. Inurnment will take place privately at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, IN. In lieu of flowers please make donations to: Paralyzed Veterans of America, P.O.
