Max M. Moore

GREENFIELD– Max M. Moore, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 in Greenfield. He was born on May 1, 1927 in Eden as the son of Paul and Vera (Franklin) Moore. He graduated from Eden High School in 1945, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On May 16, 1947, Max married Monna (Johnson) Moore, who preceded him in death. He later married Virginia (Fout) Moore who also preceded him in death. He worked as a farmer for much of his life. Max retired as a senior lab technician from the dairy barn at Eli Lilly. He was a member of Eden United Methodist Church. He participated with 4-H for over 50 years. He had enjoyed helping his sister, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids with their 4-H projects. He also loved livestock, his horses and his dogs, especially Liz and Macy. Max is survived by his daughters, Jean (Butch) Bodell of Fortville, Marcia (Augie) Kehn of Saline, MI; sister, Ann (Richard) Parker of Fortville; grandchildren, Ryan (Angie) Bodell of Fortville, Kim (Jeff) Cook of Glenwood, Libby Kehn of Clemson, SC, Andrew Kehn of Saline, MI; great-grandchildren, Claire, Kate, Meghan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his wives and a son, Eddie Moore. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Eden United Methodist Church, 2122 E. Eden Rd., Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Pastor Dave Crittendon will be officiating. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery. Full military rites will be presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eden United Methodist Church, 2122 E. Eden Rd., Greenfield, IN 46140 or Hancock County 4-H Agricultural Association, 620 N. Apple St., Greenfield, IN 46140. Envelopes will be available at the church.
