Joyce McKinley

GREENFIELD - Joyce Arlene McKinley (Myers) went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Springhurst Health Campus, Greenfield, Indiana, after an extended illness. Joyce was born on September 8, 1934, in Straughn, Indiana to Harry Kenneth “Kenny” Myers & Edna May Myers (Stites). She celebrated her 90th birthday this past September with family and friends. Joyce graduated from Richmond High School in 1954. She married Jimmy Gayle McKinley, and they had two children, Stephen L. McKinley (Cynthia, deceased) of Colorado and Michele (Brian) Dybdall of Greenfield, Indiana. Joyce had six grandchildren: John E. Dybdall (deceased), Hannah (Aaron) Dodd; Eve (Keith) Rogers, Erin (Jeremy) Turner; Caitlin (Tony) Ross; and Chloe (Nico) Romero. She had five great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doyne E. Myers; son, Chris Alan McKinley. Joyce was an employee at the Belden Corporation in Richmond, Indiana for 38 years and remained in contact with several friends with whom she worked. Upon retirement she loved to travel and was able to visit Germany and Austria. She also took an Alaskan Cruise followed by a tour of the western states. Joyce was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Richmond where she taught Sunday School for many years. Her faith in the Lord was a high priority and she modeled a devoted life of faith to her children. Another love of her life was her feline friends which she enjoyed throughout her life; they were loving companions during her retirement years. After moving to Greenfield, Indiana, Joyce attended Vineyard Community Church at Mt. Comfort with her daughter & family, where she became a part of the church community. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary (Greenfield). Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing, Indiana. A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for a later date at Vineyard Community Church in Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Animals, Inc. 2101 W.
