Harold "H.A." Davis

GREENFIELD - Harold Anthony “H.A.” Davis, II, age 82, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020. He was born in Beech Grove on June 3, 1938 to Harold Anthony Davis and Thelma (Clark) Davis Gamber. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1955. H.A. served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years. He married Karen A. (Rapala) on October 7, 1972 in Cudahy, Wisconsin. He worked for Naval Avionics and Department of Defense as a federal civil servant for 20 years before retiring in 2000. Prior to that H.A. also worked for 3M for 10 years. He was a member of the Fort Harrison VFW Post 7119, serving as twice Commander and was a lifelong member of the VFW. H.A. was also a member of the American Legion and Photo Ventures Club at the Indianapolis Art Center. He had a passion for photography and photographed people, nature, and anything that caught his eye and entered many of his photos into competitions. H.A. enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing, and spending time in his back-yard bird watching. He was very generous donating to numerous organizations. H.A. is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen; children, Beth Birch, Shane Davis, and Janeene (Tony) Hulman; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Harold (Buzz) Anthony Davis, III. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A private family funeral service will take place. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis with military rites presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
