Faye (Taylor) Muegge

Faye Muegge, age 73, of Greenfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at her residence. She was born on January 1, 1944 in Vernon, IN as the daughter of John Dee and Alberta Mae (Cadby) Taylor. After graduating from Manual High School in 1962, Faye attended Indiana University and received two Bachelor’s degrees in Occupational Therapy and Healthcare Information Administration. Faye married Carl William Muegge on September 4, 1965 in Indianapolis. She worked as a registered occupational therapist for 20 years. She then went to work for the State of Indiana as a medical records and quality assurance director. While working for the State of Indiana, she also instructed state training for five years. Faye was frugal and proud to be self-sufficient. She was selfless and a committed friend. She enjoyed her 62-year friendship with her close group of grade school friends. Faye enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Her passions included playing in her “Yakkity Yak” card club, volunteering at the Hancock Hope House Thrift Store, reading, solving jigsaw puzzles, doing yardwork, and tending to her humming birds. Faye is survived by her sons, Kirk (Coleen) Muegge of Louisville, KY and Kyle (Rachel) Muegge of Spiceland; brother, Michael (Mary) Taylor of Mooresville; sisters, Candy Darland of Indianapolis and Julie (Mark) McNulty of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Nita Taylor of Indianapolis; and 8 grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel, Hannah, Katelyn, Emma, Nick, Natasha, and Jessie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Muegge; parents, John and Alberta Taylor; brother, Jimmy Taylor; and brother-in-law, Larry Darland. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Entombment will immediately follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
