Earl Robinson

GREENFIELD - Earl Wayne Robinson, 93, of Greenfield passed away on December 17, 2024. Earl was born on June 13, 1931, in Kansas, Illinois, the son of Earl “Pete” and Maudelyn “Maude” (Axton) Robinson. Earl served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War and he received the National Defense Service Medal. During his time in service, he met his lifelong love, Maria Terino. The two married in White River Junction, Vermont on November 21, 1954. Earl and Maria later relocated to Greenfield in 1955. Together, they shared a loving 66 years of marriage and became the foundation of what would later become a tight knit family. After relocating to Greenfield, Earl began a career at Western Electric, where he retired from and later went on to become a painter for Shanks Painting. Earl was a member of the American Legion Post #119, VFW Post #2693, and Telephone Pioneers of America. He attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Earl loved a good game of pool and was known for being a pool shark. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Earl could often be found piddling in the garage, tending to the large garden alongside his wife Maria, or anything else that involved working with his hands. Most of all, Earl was a devoted family man. He treasured his time spent with his children and grandchildren for family gatherings, attending activities, or a simple pop-in visit. No matter the reason, there was always a pleasant hello to greet you at the door and he, and Maria, never missed an opportunity to support their family. Earl is survived by his children, David Robinson (Kathy A.), Robert “Bobby” Robinson (Tammy Maynard), Jerry Robinson, and Ann Marie Sandefur (Pat); daughter-in-law, Kathy L. Robinson; grandchildren, James (Christin) Robinson, Angela (David) Wiant, Jennifer Robinson, Jeffrey (Sunny) Robinson, Amanda (Dakota) Hawkins, Kellen Robinson, Jenna Sandefur, Jase Sandefur; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce Sisson and Phyllis Fox. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria Robinson; son, Douglas “Dugger” Robinson, and sister, Betty Kennedy. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Erlewein Mortuary, 1484 West US Highway 40, Greenfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Reverend David Woods will officiate the service.
