Anthony Steele Locker

AVONDALE, AZ - Anthony S. Locker, age 57, of Greenfield, passed away July 26, 2017, at his residence in Avondale, AZ. He was born on December 2, 1959 in Greenfield, IN as the son of George R. Locker, Jr. and Betty Locker Baxter. He graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1978 and received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Kansas Newman College in Wichita, KS in 1995. Anthony served in the United States Air Force. He married Suki (Yi) Locker on January 4, 2000 in Cidella, Missouri. He served for the United States Air Force for 25 years before retiring in 2004. He also worked as a field superintendent for the Gilbane Corporation for 12 years. At Gilbane, he was known for his expertise and warmth among his clients and colleagues. Anthony was known as more of a friend than a coworker, though through his military experience kept strong diligence and professionalism in everything he organized. His wealth of knowledge made him readily willing to help anyone and all could depend on him to help get the job done and done well. Anthony loved golfing and watching sports on TV, and was a big Colts fan as well. He is survived by his wife, Suki Locker of Avondale, AZ; brother, Russell (Gail) Locker of Greenfield, IN; sister Mary Meadows Roberson of New Palestine, IN; 3 nephews and 1 niece, Jeff Meadows, Kelly Allen, Rusty Locker, and Matt Locker; several great-nieces and great-nephews; several cousins; and 2 aunts, Cassie Maupin of Nicholasville, KY, and Carol Maupin of Lexington, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, George R. Locker, Jr. and Betty Locker Baxter; and niece, Jinny Meadows. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, with full military rites presented by the United States Air Force.
