Joan "Joni" Markle

GREENFIELD – Joan “Joni” Ann (Geswein) Markle, age 55, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in New Albany, Indiana on April 1, 1969 to John Leo and Rosemary Margaret (Maeser) Geswein. She graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1987 and furthered her education at Marion University in Indianapolis, Indiana and received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2004. She was blessed to meet and marry Chad L. Markle on October 24, 1998 in Little Flower Catholic Church. She worked for Keller Williams Reality in Greenfield, Indiana as a Realtor and ran their My Leverage Solutions program for multiple offices for three years and enjoyed the challenge of the real estate business. Joni was a devoted member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and had a heart strong in faith. In her free time, she enjoyed being creative and crafting. She also enjoyed relaxing and watching Hallmark movies. She valued her friendships and would make plans as often as she could to spend time with her close friends. But above all she loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Chad Markle; sons, Vincent Fuller and Nathan (Alyssa) Fuller; brothers, Steve (Judy) Geswein and Tim (Shemilly) Geswein; parents, John and Rosemary Geswein; three grandchildren, Bradley, Madelyn, and Nora; and nephews, Max, Mason, and Cooper Geswein. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A rosary reading will take place prior to the visitation at 2:30 p.m. at the mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, IN 46140 with a viewing one hour prior to the Mass. Father Aaron Jenkins will be officiating. Burial time and place will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, by website at https://www.stjude.org/, or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
