Ann L. Shively

GREENFIELD – Ann L. (Roberts) Shively, age 95, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015. She was born on May 11, 1919 in Hancock County as the daughter of Martin A. and Lora (Coffin) Roberts. She graduated from Westland High School in 1937. Ann married Gerald W. Shively on February 17, 1940. She worked for Hancock Regional Hospital for 25 years before retiring in 1988. Mrs. Shively was the past vice chair of the Republican Precinct Woman and a member of the Eastern Star and Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She also was a member of Greenfield Friends Church and had most recently attended Trinity Park United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and traveling. She loved her family dearly, but had special affection for all Gods creatures. Ann is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Alan) Bell of Greenfield and Linda O’Connor of Greenwood, IN; brother, Joseph (Justine) Roberts of Lebanon; sister, Betty (Robert) Oldham of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin, Susan, Jamie, and Shane; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Ashley, Jordan, Brad, Brooke, Seth, and Lane; two great great-granddaughters, Landyn and Quinn. She was preceded in death by parents, Martin A. and Lora (Coffin) Roberts; husband, Gerald W. Shively; brothers, Hugh Roberts and Wallace Roberts; sisters, Kathryn Jackson and Edith Lacey. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with viewing one hour prior to the service. Reverend Mike Manning will be officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IN.
