GREENFIELD – Kathy Jo (Sowder) Shuppert, age 49, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022. She was born in Greensburg, Indiana, as the youngest of 9 children, on March 31, 1972 to Bill Sowder and Wanda Jean (Shelton) Sowder. She was a 1990 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. Kathy married Kirk Alan Shuppert on April 13, 1991 in Rushville. She was the spouse Kirk prayed for. She worked for Shelly Wynn State Farm Agency in Wanamaker as an insurance agent for 9 years. For many years, she also worked as a special education assistant at the Department of Defense Schools. Kathy was a member of ITOWN Church in Fishers. She was a loving mother and caretaker. She had a way of making people feel loved and important even if she had just met them. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Kirk A. Shuppert; children, Taylor Shuppert (Alyssa) and Gabbrielle (Gabbi) Shuppert (Ian Kitkoff); siblings, Ron Sowder (Nancy), Bob Sowder (Robin), Mike Sowder (Wendy), Karla Kuhn (Dave), Karen Spaeth (Mike), Terry Sowder (Tami), and Brian Sowder; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Wanda Sowder; brother, Tim Sowder; and niece, Holli Spaeth. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Derek Lopez officiating.
