FISHERS- Ernest Henry Tew, age 82, of Fishers, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 4, 1939 to Ruth E (Browlee) and Robert H Tew. He graduated from Rosemead High School in Rosemead, California in 1958. Ernest served in the United States Army for 3 years. Then the Army reserves for another 3 years. On January 16, 1971, Ernest married Susan Kay Gulbranson in Los Angeles. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Susan Tew; daughter, Ruth Housholder (John); grandchildren, Eric Patterson, Sadie McGouldrick, Ryan Patterson, Angel Arias, Christian Patterson, Zachariah Arias, Zachary Housholder and Max Housholder; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Mary, Jack, Robert and “Lefty”. Before retiring in 2005, he worked for Western Exterminator in Los Angeles for over 30 years. After retiring, he moved to Indiana to be with his daughter and all his grandchildren. Ernest loved his family. He really enjoyed playing cards, Triominos and Yahtzee. In his younger years while residing in California, he was a member of the Elks Lodge and served as President of the Bowling Association in El Monte, California. In addition to bowling, Ernest enjoyed playing darts and played in several dart leagues. He also loved going to the beach, listening to music, reading books, and working in the yard. Some of his favorites were The Beach Boys, Tina Turner, The Eagles, and listening to the Laurel and Hardy Radio Show. Ernest loved being active and would attend as many concerts and festivals that he could. He loved concerts so much that he once even stood in the snow in shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and sandals to try to win Jimmy Buffet concert tickets. Ernest was a cancer survivor and actively supported The Little Red Door Cancer Agency in their efforts to bring awareness and funds to cancer research. He often grew out his hair and would donate it when it was long enough to donate. As an Army Veteran, he also supported all branches of the United States Military.
