GREENFIELD – Delores E. (Cowan) Hillis, age 87, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. She was born in New Ross, Indiana on October 5, 1931 to Lawrence and Ruth (Bruner) Cowan. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1951. Delores married Coy Smith Hillis. She worked for Western Electric for many years. Delores was a member of Greenfield Christian Church and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling and line dancing. She most of all loved traveling and had been to every state in the United States. Delores is survived by her sons, Kenneth D. Hillis and Ronald L. Hillis; two grandchildren, Jacob R. Hillis and Sophia Hillis; and a brother, Duke Cowan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ruth Cowan; husband, Coy Hillis; and a sister, Margie. Interment will take place on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown, IN. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
