Claude Fisher, Jr.

October 2, 1937 - February 1, 2022

GREENFIELD – Claude Wayne Fisher, Jr., age 84, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Community North Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis on October 2, 1937 to Gustava (Gwinn) Fisher and Claude Wayne Fisher, Sr. He was a 1955 graduate from Arsenal Technical High School. On February 7, 1970, Claude married Sandra Kay Wert in Indianapolis. He worked at Western Electric as a pipe fitter for 30 years until retiring in 1990. Following retirement from Western Electric, Claude continued working as a pipe fitter for Navistar for 10 years. As a big fan of racing, he was a member of the Old Timer’s Club at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he also worked as a chief observer for many years. Claude enjoyed watching baseball, specifically the Cincinnati Reds, working crossword puzzles, watching old westerns, and was a member at Trinity Park United Methodist Church in Greenfield. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Fisher; daughter, Kristine Kay (Fisher) Moore; grandchildren, Haylee Elizabeth Fisher and Jarett Lee Moore; and great grandson, Mello. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Gustava and Claude Fisher; and sisters, Delores, Charlotte, Ellen and Barbara. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
