GREENFIELD – Bobbie Jean (Asher) Baker, age 78, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020. She was born in Harland County, Kentucky on July 3, 1941 to Carl M. and Lillian O. (Sippel) Asher. She graduated from high school in 1958 and received her associates from Berea College in Kentucky. She married Norman E. Baker on August 12, 1960 in Indianapolis. She was a real estate agent for many years. Bobbie was a charter member of Inpaws and a member of the Navy Wives Club. She was the past president of Glen Oakes Flower and Henry County Homemakers Club. She won grand champion ribbon for her stargazer lily in the Glen Oaks Flower Show. Bobbie was also a Brownie Scout Leader. She enjoyed poetry, music, and gardening. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Norman Baker; daughter, Amie Elizabeth (Baker) Oakes and her husband, Mark E. Oakes; grandchildren, Jeremy E. Oakes and Rachel N. Allison; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel Oakes, Carter Allison, and Lila Allison; and brothers, Carl L. Asher and James R. Asher. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles. Due to COVID-19, a memorial gathering for close friends and family will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com. With the Governor’s COVID-19 restrictions, we are limited to only 100 guests in the mortuary at a time. The family request that face masks or coverings be worn and please practice social distancing.
