Andrée Maslek

August 28, 1941 - May 28, 2022

GREENFIELD – Andrée Marie Maslek, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Valenciennes, France during World War II on August 28, 1941 to Jules & Marie (Magne) Dufresne. Andrée came to the United States in 1947 and later graduated from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana. She married the love of her life, Paul Maslek on August 3, 1963 in Gary. Andrée was proud of her French Heritage. When she came to the United States, she knew barely any English. Her family would describe her as a hard-working and loving woman, who appreciated where she came from and what she had to endure to become who she was. Andrée enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She made much of her children’s clothing in their early years. To her family, she was quite the cook. When she did cook, she always was ready to feed an army. Andrée loved many things, especially flowers. She loved them so much, that in 1988 she established Andrée’s Floral Design in Greenfield. Throughout her years running the shop, she was able to form many relationships within the community, all while enjoying her passion of floral design. Today, her dream and aspirations in the flower shop continue with her daughters, Karen and Janet continuing her legacy of love and flowers. Andrée is survived by her husband, Paul Maslek of Greenfield; daughters, Janet (Michael) Stults of Hartford City; Karen (Eric Woolf) Maslek of Indianapolis; grandson, Jeremy Turner; sister, Leona (Jerry) Rice of Portage; several nieces and nephews; and her wonderful caregivers, Jamie, Paula, Monica, Alayna, Crystal, and Megan, who showed her so much love and care until the end. Andrée is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Shirley Bober. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US HWY 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the mortuary.
