Certified Celebrants
Using a Certified Celebrant is a new approach to honoring a loved one through a meaningful, personalized funeral or memorial service. A Certified Celebrant is a lay person, clergy person or Funeral Director, who has been trained to create and conduct funeral or memorial ceremonies for families who wish to have a unique, individualized experience. Certified Celebrants are ideal for families who are not tied to a specific church or religion and, therefore, do not have a clergy person on whom to call in times of death.
Erlewein Mortuary has two Certified Celebrants on staff – Funeral Director Greg Johnson and Owner B.J. Erlewein – who have been trained to create and conduct both non-religious and religious ceremonies. Greg and B.J. are among the few Certified Celebrants in the state of Indiana. They are honored to meet with your family, gather stories, listen to memories, and build a ceremony that reflects your personality and lifestyle.
