Shelly, a hero for all of us
by: smack24, 02/12/08
I met Shelly last spring as we both began the M.A.T. program at Marian College. Immediately, she was kind, endearing, funny and smart. She had an amazing presence about---very serene, sweet, and welcoming to everyone around her. If there was one person who was born to teach, it was Shelly. She had incredible conviction, passion, and patience....all things that make an amazing teacher, educator, leader, and colleague.
I will remember her as a hero. She courageously fought against something beyond her, though was always quick to say something positive and make others feel special.
I will miss Shelly because of her kindness, but mostly because of her heart.
Deepest Sympathies.

Shelly Was a Wonderful Teacher
by: chertzer, 02/10/08
Shelly was a wonderful teacher even though she hadn't quite finished our MAT program yet. She loved her students at Holy Spirit School, where she was known for her creative lessons and for her passion for teaching. She also taught us many lessons even more important than academic ones. She taught us to have the courage to persevere despite obstacle after obstacle put in our pathway. She taught us the value of keeping a positive outlook in the face of great odds. She taught us to focus on our dreams and to fight the good fight. I learned many valuable lessons from Shelly, and I'm sure that others who knew her did, too. We will miss her.
