McCordsville – Margaret Fern Troy Alexander, age 91, died April 4, 2009.  Born on April 2, 1918 in Hancock County, IN, she was the daughter of Robert Troy and Naomi Frank Troy. She married Lowell Alexander, December 18, 1937. 

Margaret was an accomplished musician.  She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Eden #101 OES (73 years), past deputy of the Eden Chapter and volunteer for Hancock Regional Hospital. In her later years, Margaret was a member of the McCordsville UMC. Margaret was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving her are her sons; Tom (Margie) Alexander of McCordsville and John (Janet) Alexander of McCordsville.  Grandchildren; Susan, Troy, Julie and Jennifer.  Great-Grandchildren; Jennifer, C.J., Alex, Evan, and Chloe.  Preceding her in death were her parents; Robert and Naomi Troy; husband, Lowell Alexander; brother, Frank Troy; and daughter, Patricia Jane Alexander. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009, from 4pm until 8pm with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30pm at Erlewein Mortuary Fortville Chapel.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 11am at Erlewein Mortuary Fortville Chapel. Pastor John Myrland will be officiating.  Burial will be at Gravel Lawn in Fortville.
