FORTVILLE– M. Glenn Kemerly, age 84, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at his home in Fortville. Born on March 2, 1924 in Noblesville, he was the son of Robert and Blanche (Jones) Kemerly. After graduating from Fortville High School in 1942, he served in WWII in the 78th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop and subsequently attended Butler University. He owned and operated Kemerly Trucking, Inc. in Fortville for over 40 years. He married Jean E. Peek on May 2, 1953. Mr. Kemerly was a member of Fortville United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #207, the Scottish Rite, and Fortville VFW #6904. Survivors include his wife, Jean Kemerly of Fortville; son, Robert S. Kemerly (friend, Diane Stanton) of Warrentown, Va; daughters, Karen A. Kemerly and Sharon K. Kemerly, both of Fortville; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at The Chapel at Gravel Lawn Cemetery with viewing two hours prior to the service. Reverend Thomas Pitcher will be officiating and burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fortville United Methodist Church, 125 E.
