GREENFIELD– Jerry Lee Driesbach, age 72, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009, at Golden Living Center-Brandywine.  Born on January 28, 1937, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Herbert and Valera (Griner) Driesbach.  Jerry attended Greenfield High School and worked as an auto mechanic for 43 years before retiring in 1998. 

 

Mr. Driesbach was an Army veteran, serving from 1960-1962.  He was also a volunteer fireman and EMT for thirteen years at the Greenfield downtown station.  He was a model railroader, collecting HO scale trains, was active in Girl Scouts, and loved to camp.  Jerry also loved bass fishing, golf, and woodworking.  He was a member of a Bowling League at Greenfield Lanes for many years and also attended Community Christian Church in New Palestine. 

 

Surviving him are his wife, Betty Jean Ragan Driesbach of Greenfield; children, Anne M. (Jerry) Tilley of Greenfield and Karen S. (Brad) Smith of Muncie; brothers, Jack (Mary) Driesbach of Wilkinson and Jim (Donna) Driesbach of Greenfield; sister, Judy (Paul) Honaker of Greenfield; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren, Dharma, Corbin, and Tanner.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary with Chaplain Joel Brown officiating.  Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, with military honors.
