NEW PALESTINE – James Leon “Jim” Roberson, age 64, of New Palestine, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.  Born on February 18, 1945 in Monroe County, Kentucky, he was the son of Clarence and Martha (Smith) Roberson.  He attended Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis.

 

Mr. Roberson married Mary C. (Meadows) Roberson on December 21, 1991 in New Palestine.  He worked in inventory control for Allison Gas Turbine in Indianapolis for 30 years before retiring in1997.  He attended Community Christian Church in New Palestine.

 

Surviving him are his wife, Mary Roberson of New Palestine; son, Marty J. (Patia) Roberson of Indianapolis; daughter, Angie Roberson of Indianapolis; step-son, Jeff W. (Jennifer) Meadows of New Palestine; step-daughter, Kelly S. Collins of New Palestine; brother, Junior (Norma) Roberson of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Robert Morris of Speedway; sister-in-law, Bertha (Sam) Lundy-Masuccio of Carmel; and eight grandchildren.  His parents, three brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary.  Pastor Todd Beale will officiate.  Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
