Fortville -  Hilda I. (Chapple) Goen, age 75, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.  Born on June 7, 1932 in Fortville, she was the daughter of Francis and Elsie (Rocky) Chapple.  She attended Fortville High School and married Marshall I. Goen.

A homemaker and loving mother, Mrs. Goen attended the Fortville Nazarene Church in Fortville.  She was a member of the Brother and Sisterhood of Fortville, Indiana and the Red Hat Society of Regency Place. Mrs. Goen was an avid bingo and card player and loved quilting.

Surviving her are her children, Karen (Eugene) Burchett and Steven (Joyce) Chapple, both of Fortville, Noble (Helen) Goen  of Taylorsville, Indiana, and Terry (Beverly) Goen of Fortville; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her parents and husband; sister, Mary L. Jones; and brothers, Lawrence “Lefty” Chapple and Ernest “Sunshine” Chapple. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, March  4, 2008 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with viewing one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
