KALAMAZOO, MI – Grace Elizabeth (Sanders) Cassell, age 89, a long time resident of Greenfield, died April 21, 2009 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Born on August 24, 1919 in Middletown, IN, she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Mowrey) Sanders.  She married Herschel Burton Cassell. 

She worked for Eli Lilly in Greenfield for over 25 years.  Grace was a member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and an active bridge player. 

Surviving her are her children, Rebecca Cassell of Kalamazoo, MI, Jerry (Marianne) Cassell of Lawton, MI; grandchildren, Nathan Cassell of Denver, CO, Molly Burton of Mattawan, MI; and five great-grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and her loving step-mother, Pauline Rankin Sanders.   

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with viewing one and one half hours prior to the service.  Reverend John Davis will be officiating.  Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Middletown, Indiana.
