MCCORDSVILLE– George Delbert “G.D.” Fisher, age 81, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 at his residence in McCordsville.  Born on September 26, 1926 in Warren County, Tennessee, he was the son of Lester and Maggie (Gibson) Fisher.  He married Nellie Pierce on January 14, 1950, and worked at Allisons Transmission as a machinist for thirty years before retiring in 1982.  Mr. Fisher was also a member of UAW #933.  Surviving him are his wife, Nellie Fisher of McCordsville; children, Sheila (Dwight) Wesley of Fortville and Michael (Chris) Fisher of Anderson; grandchildren, Bryan, Travis, Brandon, and Nathan; and great-grandchildren, B.J., Asia, and Travis Michael Dale.  Preceding him in death were his parents.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, Tennessee.  Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Fisher may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.  Friends may sign the on-line guestbook at www.erleweinmortuary.com or email condolences to sympathy@erleweinmortuary.com.

I Just wanted to Say THANKS  to my Relatives and Everyone That could make it.  Also Erlewein Mortuary and High's for Their Services and I would Like to add a few words about my dad ,"He lived a good 81 years and lived in some hard times and always worked to provide for Mom and my Sister & I when we were kids , And as years past He Retired from work and took care of mom till he died in his sleep"    I would also like to thank all of dads friends that I have known through the years that were like part of the family and I know they will miss him too, and to all who did not know in time or was not there Thank you for being his friend ! TN.is my dads birthplace and he has come home to rest.
