GREENFIELD – Genevieve (Kinnevey) Harting, age 75, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield.  Born on March 10, 1934 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Thomas J. and Della (Leffingwell) Kinnevey.  She graduated from Knightstown High School in 1952.  Genevieve married Charles W. Harting on November 3, 1956 in Indianapolis.  She was a member of the Anderson Friends Meeting.

 

Mrs. Harting loved working on the farm with her husband and being a mother.  She also worked for over 10 years as the drive-thru cashier for the Cherry Tree McDonalds in Indianapolis.  Mrs. Harting enjoyed playing cards and bingo as well as socializing with her friends.  Before her time at Crown Point, she enjoyed traveling, teaching Sunday School, and directing her church choir.  Most of all, Mrs. Harting loved spending time with her family.

 

Surviving her are her children, Ann (Steve) Rodino of Fishers, Tom (Lori) Harting of Ft. Wayne, Charlie (Missy) Harting of Noblesville, Diane (Todd) Kelley of West Lafayette, and Samantha (Steve) Frykholm of Lebanon, PA; sister, Joann Waltman of Indianapolis; six grandsons and five granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceding her in death were her husband Charles, her parents, and eight siblings.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009, from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 29, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at the mortuary with Gale Stutz officiating.  Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Cumberland.
