GREENFIELD – Floyd W. Kuhn, age 95, died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. Born on December 22, 1913 in Mohawk, he was the son of John and Etta (Wilson) Kuhn. He graduated from Mt. Comfort High School and married Virginia (Amos) Kuhn on April 20, 1937.
He was a self-employed carpenter and a school bus driver for Mt. Vernon schools. He also worked for Farm Bureau, Diamond Chain, and was the manager for the McCordsville Elevator. Mr. Kuhn was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church for 64 years. He loved music, loved to sing, was a square dance caller, and was an avid fisherman and gardener. Floyd was a founding member and former chief of the Buck Creek Township Fire Department. He was also a member of the Masons in both the McCordsville and Eden lodges and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a very optimistic person.
Surviving him is his wife, Virginia, of Greenfield; children, Sandy (Jack) Abel of Greenfield, Bill (Linda) Kuhn of Greenfield; grandchildren, Kristi (Steve) Durbin of New Zealand, Darla (Dave) Leversen of Westfield, Brian (Tina Atkins) Kuhn of Greenfield; great-grandchildren, Sean Durbin, Alex Leversen, Kayla Leversen, Bailey Lyle, and Blake Kuhn. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Roy and Walter Kuhn; and nephew Dale Kuhn.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

Virginia, Our hearts and prayers go to you and your family. You and Floyd had so many, many wonderful years together. You two were the stalwarts at Mt. Comfort that set examples for the rest of us with your stewardship and never ending commitment. To best describe Floyd, we had the greatest admiration for his faithfulness to God and the church.
