GREENFIELD – Edith J. (Morris) Rather, age 75, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at her residence.  Born on January 28, 1934 in Tennessee, she was the daughter of Jesse Ray Morris and Theora Mae (Huntsman) Chandler.  She married Randal M. Rather on April 20, 1957 in Kentucky. 

Mrs. Rather was a homemaker.  

Surviving her is her son, Danny M. Rather of Fortville; daughters, Donna M. (Marion) Potts of Greenfield, Velina A. (Gary) Dalchow of McCordsville; sister, Evelyn Hunt of Scottsville, KY; grandchildren, Derrik, Amanda, Brandon, Brian, Aron, Landon, Olivia; great-grandchildren, Jessi, Nick; and several nieces and nephews.  Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; and brother, William Chandler. 

 Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will be on Friday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.
