Greenfield – Dolores J. “Dee” (Stafford) Stoepler, age 80, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on September 26, 1928 in Greenfield, she was the daughter of Jesse D. and Leota (Harwood) Stafford. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1946. Dee married Ed Stoepler on May 2, 1954 in Greenfield.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Christian Chevrolet and also worked in the cafeteria at Greenfield Junior High School for twenty nine years. She enjoyed live country music and was an avid scrapbooker. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Surviving her are her husband, Ed; daughters, Donna (Bill) Brookfield of Greenfield, DeAnne (John) Maxwell of Indianapolis; brother, Donald (Janice) Stafford of Chandler, AZ; sister, Gloria Jean (Bob) Denney of Greenfield; grandchildren, Jennifer, Joe (Denise), Katie, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Zackary; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 3, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with viewing one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paul Enyart will be officiating. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
