CUMBERLAND– Cody Ray Bunten, age 20, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. Born on August 29, 1988, he was the son of Frank and Cheryl (Kessler) Bunten. Cody worked at J-Line moving company in Indianapolis. He was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do who loved to play the guitar and drums. Cody was an artist who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working on high performance cars.
Surviving him are his parents, Frank and Cheryl Bunten of Cumberland; aunts and uncles, Bonnie (fiancé, Danny Devine) Greene of New York, Beverly (Frank) Deluca of Florida, Daniel (Sue) Bunten of New York, Mary (Donald) Dean of New York, Paula (Brian) Slater of South Carolina, Greg Kessler of Florida, Brian Kessler of Indiana, and Patty (Don) Runyan of Indiana; loving companion, Megan Smithson of Cumberland; grandmother, Mary Bunten of Port Ewen, New York, great-grandmother, Louella Kessler of Hanover; and several cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Frank Bunten, Jr., and Eldon and Carolyn Kessler.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
