When Charlie was 5 years old

by: jallenbj, 06/22/09

Sherry:

When visiting my parents, Mom gave me the obituary for Charlie.  We lived across the street from Charlie in Harrison Park in Lawrence.  I taught Charlie to play chess when he was 5 or 6 years old.  He outwitted some of the older boys in the neighborhood.   I  have often used Charlie as an examle that one can play chess at a young age.  I lost contact with Charlie when we moved in 1960.    My parents now live outside Fortville and I an the librarian at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.

I am sorry for your loss and am praying for your spiritual needs.

A great uncle and many fabulous memories with Uncle Charlie & Aunt Sherry.  Time passes too fast.  I wish Charlie could have been at more family functions and events and taught my boys baseball and calculus. :)

Sherry, Chip, and Zach -you each have been amazingly strong. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

With love and sympathy -Stacey, Seth & Casey

Charlie and I played softball together back in the 80's. He was always a fun guy and had an easygoing confidence about him.I met him through a mutual friend,Ed Kersage. We did some fishing at Racoon Creek and a few family type functions. We both liked playing softball and listening to rock. I have been living in Florida until a few months ago,and we now live in Greenfield. My name is Phil Delor. I ran swimming pool companies called Kayak Pools and Sun Mountain Pools. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to his family for their loss.
