GREENFIELD – Charles E. “Charlie” Edwards, age 75, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008.  Born on September 2, 1932 in Shelbyville, Indiana, he was the son of Slim and Sarah (Elliot) Edwards.  He graduated from Morristown High School in Morristown, Indiana.  Mr. Edwards married Rosa C. (Capriola) Edwards on June 25, 1976 in Lawrence, Indiana.  He was a department leader for Western Electric in Indianapolis, retiring in 1983.  Mr. Edwards also co-owned Ceramics by Rosa in Indianapolis and Greenfield.  He had served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army in Korea during 1952-1954.

An avid Nascar fan, Charlie spent many days at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the month of May.  He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and also enjoyed boating. 

His wife, Rosa, preceded him in death on October 11, 2006.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 20, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary, Greenfield.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 21, at 10:00 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary, Greenfield.  Pastor Paul Enyart will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Philadelphia.
