NEW PALESTINE – Carlotta (Scalet) Coles, age 91, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Golden Living Center Brandywine in Greenfield. Born on December 27, 1917, in Christopher, Illinois, she was the daughter of Joseph and Olivia (Simion) Scalet. Mrs. Coles lived for many years in Chicago and Denver, Colorado.
Surviving her is her son, Robert A. Bagdon of Centennial, Colorado; daughter, Barbara Stemmelin of New Palestine; brother, Modesto Scalet of Momence, Illinois; two grandchildren, Renee (Dr. Hans) Schuller and Frank (Shawn) Rago; four great-grandchildren, Eric and Ryan Schuller and Benjamin and Michelle Rago; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.

Bud & Barbara and everyone,
I am so sorry to see Aunt Clara's obit in today's Denver Post. What a character she was. She was really great to me when I moved to Denver in 1979, and of course, her parties were legendary! I first remember meeting her and you when Grandmother (Mary) took me to the luau at the cabin after I graduated high school in 1974. Talk about a par-TAY. I'll miss her.
