MORRISTOWN– Betty J. (Nigh) Tribby, age 86, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at Morristown Manor.  Born on December 6, 1922, she was the daughter of John W. and Dorothy D. Nigh.  She graduated from Morristown High School in 1940 and attended Indiana Central for three years.  Betty married Warren E. “Punk” Tribby on August 9, 1943.  She worked at Morristown High School as secretary for thirty one years. 

Betty was a member of the Morristown Nazarene Church where she served as Church Treasurer and Nazarene missions society member.  She loved watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. 

Surviving her are her children, Nancy L. (James) Johns of Fountaintown, Robert E. Tribby of Indianapolis, David A. (Rema) Tribby of Morristown, and Beth A. (Rodney) Smith of Morristown; sister, Virginia L. Carmony of Florida; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brother, Robert W. Nigh; brother-in-law, Dr. Byron M. Carmony; and grandson, Brad Harris. 

Visitation will be Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morristown Church of the Nazarene.  Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the church with calling for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown and Dr. Howard Robbins will be officiating.
