Huggable Barbara,

by: dheid, 03/19/08

To Paul, Teresa, & Leisa,

I've known your mother for over 20 years through Solocon.  She talked a lot about you three and especially about basketball and her grandkids.  But the thing I admired the most about your precious Mother over the years was her leadership style.  I also directed Solocon for a few years and your Mother directed SoloCon after me and she had a completely different "style" of leadership.  Your Mother's leadership style wasn't the normal take charge attitude, or even the typical Nazarene leadership style of let's form a committee and let them decide.  Her style was so warm and compassionate.  Her style radiated the love of Jesus like I've never seen it done before or since.  She just simply would give people a hug and tell them she loved them and everything would be okay.  What a leadership style - HUGS.  I can't wait til I get to heaven and get another one of those Barbara Riddle all consuming lovable hugs.
