GREENFIELD – Ardell (Harris) Polston, age 82, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Brandywine Golden Living Center in Greenfield.  Born on April 29, 1926 in Russell Springs, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Orlando and Burcella Harris. 

 

Mrs. Polston graduated from Russell Springs High School and worked at Western Electric as an assembler for many years before retiring in 1982.  Ardell was a member of Faith Chapel Church in Knightstown.

 

Surviving her are her daughters, Vickie Thompson of Greenfield and Judy Canter of Knightstown; sister, Marcella “Margie” Hoy of Noblesville; grandchildren, Wendy (Mike) Leonard of Wilkinson, Troy (Angie) Bass of Greenfield, Barbara (Patrick) Kamminga of Greenfield, and Darin (Emily) Canter of Indianapolis; and six great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Garrett, Ronnie, Raegan, Austin, and Kyla.  Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Rova F. Polston; brothers, Grady Harris and Tink Harris; and sister, Ethel Johnson. 

 

Visitation will be Friday, March 27, 2009, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.  Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary.  Brother Randy Gross will be officiating and burial will follow at Park Cemetery.
