We will miss you Kay

Nightshift staff rarely has the opportunity to get to know our residents. However, we were able to get to know Kay. She was our night owl. Every night around 1am we would hear that scooter coming down the hallway, and we knew it was time to make a PB & J sandwich with an ice cold glass of milk. K ay often stayed up with us at night conversating. Kay would always bragg about her family. She loved you all so much. She was so proud of Michael. She told us one night how glad she was that "he turned out to be a good man like his father", and "that he found a wonderful woman to share his life with". She spoke often of her "baby girl Joyce Ann" and "what a beautiful baby she was." Kay loved her grandchildren very much. We always knew when had visited.
She had told us about her late husband and "what a good man he was". I remember telling her how pretty one of her rings were one night and she said her "sweety" gave it to her with a big smile on her face. I know she missed him greatly and now she is right where she wanted to be. At his side again.
It is an odd feeling with the halls quiet at night, but I know she is resting and at peace. We will miss her.
With our Sympathy,
Lindsey Easley LPN and the Nightshift Nursing Staff.
