BLOOMINGTON- Maxine J. Carroll, age 85, formerly of Greenfield and Carthage, passed away on March 15, 2009.  Born on November 19, 1923, she was the daughter of Edward and Minola Stephens.  She graduated from Knightstown High School and married Edward P. Carroll.  Maxine worked as a homemaker for many years and was a member of the East Street Christian Church in Carthage. 

Surviving her are her sons, Jim Carroll of Austin, TX, and Pat Carroll of Bloomington; daughter, Deanna S. “Dee” Whitaker of Greenfield; sister, Thelma Bundy of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Bill, Janet, and Christine.  Preceding her in death were her parents and husband. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with calling from noon until the time of the service.  Pastor David Bonne will be officiating and burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
