NEW PALESTINE– James Raymond Phillips, age 94, died Monday, February 4, 2008 at his home in New Palestine.  Born on October 5, 1913 in Jurdan, Kentucky, he was the son of James and Lena (Leip) Phillips.  Mr. Phillips married Mary Louise Roberts on June 7, 1938 in South Fulton, Tennessee.  He worked as a farmer and also for Hamms Garage as a mechanic for over 30 years.  Mr. Phillips was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Fulton, Kentucky.  Surviving him are his wife, Mary Phillips of New Palestine; daughters, Nancy (husband, Pat) and Gail (husband, David); brother, Hugh Phillips of Union City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ricky, Mary, Davey, and Kimber; great-grandchildren, Khaliah, Chance, Payton, Noah, Ryan, and Madison; and several nieces and nephews.  Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Dana and Robert Phillips; and sister, Irene Duncan.  Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, Kentucky.  Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Brother Ronald Cruse will be officiating.  Burial will be at Obion County Memorial Gardens in Union City, Tennessee.  Friends may sign the on-line guestbook at www.erleweinmortuary.com or email condolences to sympathy@erleweinmortuary.com.
